The Chain Reaction Element (CRE) Project In this project I create a living construction similar to different industrial elements. This object evolves and spreads and is camouflaged like solar water heating structures (SWH). While these take their energy from the sun, this construction /creature will take energy from the humans to be able to breathe. This object develops via a mutation from a regular SWH to its black mimesis: an element that is breathing by taking the body temperature from humans, for its own survival, the survival of the strongest . By human heat energy, the CRE is kept alive. It works by creating an inner “light shadow” (instead of shining, its spreading shadow) that draws the body heat and causes a sense of fatigue and cold. The element creates a negative physical human experience. Survival reactions occur. That physical experience provides the CRE with energy to breathe in order to survive and evolve. It is no object that provides a service for others, it became an alive form that uses different strategies. The solar object form is chosen because it reminds a common sight all over the world and there is a collective memory of it, which the CRE uses as camouflage as it is spreading. The black CRE looks like a reminiscent of minimalist elements, industrial or primary forms. From a distance it seems like a part of the structures that belong to silhouette shapes in the architectural landscape. It appears like an object that contains an inside silence but at the same time holds a huge memory of an ancient object, similar to an altar with an aura. Amit Goffer |
